A Younger Looking, Healthier, More Vital You!

The sad truth is that hair loss is often associated with aging. It's not uncommon for people with a receding hairline, or partial or complete hair loss to appear 10-20 years older than they really are. It's common for people who suffer from hair loss to avoid convertibles, outdoor activities on windy days, sitting while others are standing, etc, because they feel self-conscious. It can be an unhappy existence constantly having to wear hats and avoid situations where your hair loss will be exposed.

A hair transplant can literally take years off your appearance and give you back the confidence you once had. Embrace life and let the wind whip through your hair... enjoy getting your picture taken... and feel confident in today's competitive job market. It's all possible to have a full head of hair again with a hair transplant procedure. In just a few short hours, you'll be on your way to fully enjoying life again.

Losing Your Hair - What Can you Do About It?

Losing your hair can be incredibly traumatic. While there are a lot of options like special shampoos, lasers, topical solutions, supplements, and so on... nothing can produce results like transplanting your own living hair.

For most people suffering from hair loss, the decision to get a hair transplant comes after many years of struggling with four big questions: Will the procedure be painful? Will my results look natural? How is the transplant done? How much does it cost?

The Transplant Procedure and Pain

A hair transplant is a relatively simple outpatient procedure done under local anesthetic. Most patients report very little pain or discomfort during the procedure, and sit comfortably watching TV. At any point during the procedure you can get up and walk around or take restroom breaks. Dr. Ochs and his expert staff continually monitor your pain levels and adjust your medication so you'll be comfortable and relaxed. At the end of the procedure, most patients are fine to drive themselves home.

The recovery period is generally 2-3 days. During this time, you simply relax and avoid strenuous physical activity. You will be given pain medication which you can self administer as needed, although many patients don't take anything. For the first few nights, you sleep with your head propped up, and take a sleep aid to avoid moving around too much during the night. Many patients are back to work in just two to three days.

After about 10-14 days, stitches from the donor area can be removed and any light scabbing around the grafts should be gone. Patients resume normal physical activity at this point.

Creating a Natural Hairline

The old "hair plug style" hard lined hairlines are the stuff of nightmares for people considering a hair transplant. Many places haven't evolved in their methodology and techniques in order to produce the best results, so you have to be careful when choosing a doctor.

Dr. Ochs is a master at creating natural hairlines, undetectable to the naked eye, even under close-up scrutiny. After so many years of studying healthy hairlines in men and women of all ages, as well as varying stages of hair loss, Dr. Ochs has developed a keen eye for detail and an intimate knowledge of hairline patterns that occur in nature. His results mimic those natural hairlines perfectly, using hairs of varying thicknesses and density, and an uneven pattern at the hairline edge.

Your Own Living Hair - How It's Done.

The Hair transplant procedure itself requires skill and an artful hand, but it's actually a fairly simple as far as outpatient procedures go. A wide, thin strip of "donor" hair is removed from the back of the head. While the doctor closes the incision, technicians divide up the donor strip into hundreds (or thousands) of individual grafts.

After your new hairline has been penciled in, tiny incisions are made in the recipient area to receive the grafts. The grafts are expertly placed, one by one, until the recipient area has the required density, and coverage.

The new hair will have the same color, texture, curl, and feel as the hair in the surrounding areas. You will be able to cut, style, and color your hair just as you always have.

The entire procedure takes roughly 4-6 hours, possibly more depending on the level of hair loss, and the number of grafts used. Dr. Ochs takes a particular pride in expertly closing the donor incision so that the scar will be impossible to see, and no one will ever know you've had a procedure done.

Pricing

Pricing is done on an individual basis. During your consultation, Dr. Ochs will be able to evaluate your level of hair loss, balding pattern, and donor hair area. You will have the opportunity to describe the look you'd like to achieve, and together you will decide on the best solution for your hair restoration.
